What is headless commerce?

Headless commerce keeps the front end that buyers see apart from the commerce engine behind it. Your team builds the storefront, app or kiosk in any stack, and each one calls Tanqory's storefront API for products, carts and checkout.

Which frameworks can we use?

Any that can send an HTTPS request. The storefront API is GraphQL, so a Next.js or React storefront, a Swift or Kotlin app and a kiosk can all use it. Our SDK and the Tanqory CLI help JavaScript and TypeScript teams start faster.

Do we have to go fully headless?

No. Every Tanqory theme is free and built in React and TypeScript, server rendered at the edge and editable in the visual editor. Many teams start from a theme and build headless front ends only where they need them.

Is there a transaction fee on headless orders?

No. Every plan has a 0% transaction fee with any payment provider you connect, including Stripe, PayPal and Braintree, on every front end. You pay your provider's own rate, and we never mark it up.

Can AI shopping agents buy from our store?

Every store speaks the Universal Commerce Protocol, so AI shopping agents can discover, browse and buy. Product feeds also go to ChatGPT, Google Merchant Center, Meta and TikTok from one settings page.

Can our coding agents work with the store?

Yes. Connect Claude and other AI assistants through the Tanqory MCP server with a secure sign-in, and build themes from your coding agent with the Tanqory CLI and the theme developer MCP.

Can we take our data out?

Yes. Export products, customers, orders, discounts, catalogs, analytics and tax reports as CSV whenever you need them, and read the same data through the open APIs.
