Responsible AI starts with strong ethics. Today, we're publishing our comprehensive AI ethics framework that aligns with global standards and reflects our commitment to building technology that serves humanity.
As artificial intelligence continues to reshape industries and societies, the need for robust ethical guidelines has never been more critical. The United Nations emphasized in May 2025 that AI is no longer just a technological issue: it's a human rights imperative. At Tanqory, we take this responsibility seriously.
Our Core Ethical Principles
Our framework is built on six foundational principles that guide every AI system we develop:
Fairness and Non-Discrimination
We are committed to eliminating bias in our AI systems. This means:
- Regularly auditing our models for discriminatory outcomes
- Ensuring diverse and representative training data
- Implementing bias detection and mitigation techniques
- Treating all people fairly regardless of background, identity, or characteristics
Transparency and Explainability
AI should not be a black box. We believe in:
- Making our AI decision-making processes understandable
- Providing clear documentation of how our systems work
- Enabling users to understand why specific decisions were made
- Publishing regular transparency reports on our AI operations
Privacy and Data Protection
Data privacy is fundamental to trust. We ensure:
- Strong data protection measures at every stage
- Compliance with global privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, and beyond)
- User control over their personal data
- Minimal data collection principles: only what's necessary

Accountability and Human Oversight
Every AI system must have clear ownership. We maintain:
- Clearly defined responsibility for AI outcomes
- Human-in-the-loop mechanisms for critical decisions
- Regular reviews and audits of AI system performance
- Clear escalation paths when issues arise
Safety and Reliability
Our systems must be secure and dependable:
- Rigorous testing before deployment
- Resilience against adversarial attacks
- Fail-safe mechanisms to prevent harm
- Continuous monitoring and improvement
Human-Centric Design
Technology should enhance human capabilities, not replace human judgment:
- AI systems that support human well-being
- Alignment with fundamental human rights
- Consideration of societal impact in every design decision
- Empowerment of users rather than manipulation
Alignment with Global Standards
Our framework aligns with leading international AI ethics guidelines:
UNESCO Recommendation on AI Ethics: We embrace the first-ever global standard on AI ethics, which places human rights and dignity at its core. Our systems advance transparency, fairness, and human oversight in accordance with UNESCO's principles applicable across all 194 member states.
EU AI Act: We comply with the EU's risk-based approach, ensuring our high-risk applications meet strict controls while avoiding unacceptable uses such as social scoring or mass surveillance.
Microsoft Responsible AI Principles: Like other technology leaders, we adopt principles ensuring our AI systems are fair, reliable, safe, private, secure, inclusive, transparent, and accountable.
Operationalizing Our Principles
Principles are only meaningful when implemented in practice. Our operationalization includes:

- Regular ethics reviews for all AI projects
- Dedicated team for AI safety and compliance
- Third-party audits and assessments
Development Process
- Ethics-by-design approach from project inception
- Mandatory impact assessments for high-risk systems
- Continuous testing for fairness and bias
- Documentation requirements at every stage
Deployment and Monitoring
- Phased rollout with careful monitoring
- Real-time performance tracking
- User feedback mechanisms
- Rapid response protocols for issues
Training and Culture
- Regular ethics training for all employees
- Clear guidelines and decision-making frameworks

Our Commitment to Continuous Improvement
AI ethics is not static: it evolves with technology and society. We commit to:
- Annual reviews and updates of our framework
- Engagement with the global AI ethics community
- Transparent reporting of our progress and challenges
- Learning from mistakes and near-misses
- Contributing to industry-wide best practices
Looking Ahead
As we advance into 2025 and beyond, the stakes for responsible AI have never been higher. With AI systems increasingly integrated into critical decisions affecting lives, livelihoods, and fundamental rights, our ethical framework serves as both a compass and a commitment.
We believe that building ethical AI is not just about compliance or risk management: it's about earning and maintaining the trust of the communities we serve. It's about ensuring that as AI grows more powerful, it remains aligned with human values and serves the common good.
This framework represents our promise to you: to develop AI that is fair, transparent, accountable, and ultimately beneficial to humanity. We invite feedback, collaboration, and dialogue as we work together to shape a future where AI amplifies the best of human potential.
