Refund policy
1. About this policy
This policy explains how returns, exchanges and refunds work when you buy from Tallis Knitwear at www.example.com.
The seller is Tallis Knitwear Pty Ltd, trading as Tallis Knitwear.
Nothing in this policy limits the rights the law gives you where you live. Where those rights give you more time or a better remedy, they apply.
2. Returns
If you change your mind, you can return most items within 30 days of receiving them.
Items made to order or personalised for you cannot be returned because you changed your mind, as we cannot sell them to anyone else. If one is faulty or not what you ordered, we remake it or refund you.
3. Condition of returned items
Items must be unused and unworn, with their tags attached and in their original packaging, together with the receipt or proof of purchase.
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also return goods you have unpacked and handled as you would in a shop, under the rules in the section for your country.
4. Items we cannot take back
Unless they are faulty, damaged or not as described, we cannot take back:
- Gift cards.
Where the law where you live gives you a right to return any of these, that right applies.
5. Sale items and gifts
Sale items marked final sale cannot be returned because you changed your mind.
A sale item that is faulty, damaged or not as described has the same rights as any other item, and the law where you live may give you more.
If you received an item as a gift, you can return it under this policy with the order number or gift receipt. We give you store credit for the price paid, and we do not tell the person who bought it.
6. How to start a return
- Email returns@example.com with your order number and the items you want to return.
- We reply with your return number and where to send the items.
- Pack the items securely, with the return number inside.
- Send them to 22 Sample Road, Fitzroy VIC 3065, Australia.
Please ask before you send anything, so we know your return is on its way.
7. Return shipping
You pay the cost of sending items back, and we suggest a tracked service, as we cannot refund an item that does not reach us.
If an item is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, we pay for the return.
8. Refunds
Once your return reaches us and we have checked it, we email you and send your refund within 10 days.
You can choose:
- A refund to the payment method you used. Your bank or card provider may take a few more days to show it.
- An exchange for another size, colour or item of the same price, sent once your return reaches us.
We do not refund the original delivery charge when you change your mind, unless the law where you live says we must. If an item is faulty, damaged or wrong, we refund the delivery charge too.
Where the law where you live sets a shorter time for a refund, we follow it.
9. Damaged, faulty or wrong items
If an item arrives damaged, turns out to be faulty or is not what you ordered, email returns@example.com within 14 days of delivery with your order number and a photo.
We repair it, replace it or refund you in full, including delivery, and we pay for the return. Telling us later never takes away a right the law gives you.
10. Your rights in the European Union
You can withdraw from a purchase made online within 14 days, without giving a reason. For goods, the 14 days run from the day you, or someone you name who is not the carrier, receive them, or the last item of an order that arrives in parts.
To withdraw, tell us before the 14 days end with a clear statement, for example by email to returns@example.com. You can use the model withdrawal form, but you do not have to.
We refund every payment we received from you, including standard delivery, within 14 days of the day you tell us, using the payment method you used unless you agree to another, at no cost to you. We may wait until the goods reach us, or until you show you have sent them, whichever comes first.
Send the goods back within 14 days of telling us. You pay the direct cost of sending them back.
You only pay for any loss in value caused by handling the goods beyond what is needed to see what they are, how they work and their features.
The right to withdraw does not cover:
- Goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised.
Separately from withdrawal, goods must match their description and the contract. If they do not, and the fault shows within two years of delivery, you can have them repaired or replaced, and if that is not possible, a price reduction or your money back.
11. Your rights in the United Kingdom
You can cancel most online purchases within 14 days without giving a reason. For goods, the 14 days start the day after they reach you; for services and digital content, the day after the purchase.
To cancel, tell us before the 14 days end, for example by email to returns@example.com. We refund what you paid, including standard delivery, within 14 days of receiving the goods back or proof that you sent them, and within 14 days of your notice if there is nothing to send back.
You pay the cost of sending goods back. We may reduce the refund if you handled the goods more than you would in a shop.
Personalised goods, sealed hygiene goods once unsealed, goods that spoil quickly, and digital content you chose to receive straight away cannot be cancelled this way.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If they are not, you can reject them for a full refund within 30 days of delivery. After that, you can ask for a repair or replacement, and if that fails, a price reduction or a refund. A fault that shows within six months is taken to have been there at delivery, unless we show otherwise.
12. Your rights in the United States
No federal law gives a general right to return a purchase you changed your mind about. The returns we accept are the ones in this policy, which we show before you buy.
Some states have their own rules. In California and New York, for example, a store must display its refund policy before the sale, and where a store does not, you can return goods within 30 days. This policy is that notice.
Your state’s law may also give you rights when goods are not fit for their ordinary purpose, and nothing in this policy takes those rights away.
13. Your rights in Australia
Our goods and services come with rights under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Goods must be of acceptable quality, fit for purpose and match their description, and services must be provided with due care and skill.
For a major failure, you can choose a refund or a replacement, and compensation for any other loss you could reasonably expect. For a minor failure, we can choose to repair, replace or refund, within a reasonable time.
These rights apply to sale items too, and no sign or line in this policy takes them away. Change of mind returns are our own choice, not a right under that law.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The version on our store when you buy applies to that order, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.
