Free QR code generator
Make a QR code that scans first time
Free, with no sign-up and no email. The code redraws as you type, and nothing you enter leaves this page.
Any web address. We add https:// when you leave it off. SVG for print, PNG for screens.
Where codes work
Put a code where people already pause
A code earns its place where people stand still, phone in hand. Every code below scans.
A menu card on every table
Link a table card to your menu or order page. Update the page and every printed card shows the change, with no reprint.Link · Medium error correction · 3 cm wideMake this code
Wi-Fi on the window
A sticker on the counter or the window lets guests join your network in one tap, without spelling out a password.Wi-Fi · Quartile error correction · 5 cm wideMake this code
A business card that saves itself
A contact card code puts your name, number, email and website into the phone's contacts, spelled right.vCard 3.0 · Medium error correction · 2.5 cm wideMake this code
A reorder link in the parcel
Print a code on the packing slip or the box that opens the product page, a care guide or a review form.Link · High error correction · 2 cm wideMake this code

Before you print
Four checks that save a reprint
A code fails at the printer, not in the generator: scan a test print with two phones first.
Size it for the distance
A phone reads a code from about 10 times its width. A 3 cm code on a table works up to 30 cm; a poster read from 2 m needs a code 20 cm wide. Set it in the generator
Dark code, light ground
Keep the code darker than its background, with strong contrast. Pale grey, or a light code on a dark ground, can fail on some phones and scanners. Set it in the generator
Leave the quiet zone
Scanners find the code by its clear margin, 4 modules wide on every side. Every file here includes it; keep text, borders and the edge of the paper out of it. Set it in the generator
Choose error correction
Medium suits most print and keeps the pattern small. Choose High for signs outdoors, worn or folded surfaces, and any code with a logo in the middle. Set it in the generator

Short answers
QR code questions
What is a QR code?
A QR code is a square of small dark and light squares that stores text: a link, a phone number, a message, Wi-Fi details or a contact card. A phone camera reads it and offers the matching action, such as opening the page or joining the network. Under the preview this tool shows the exact text your code holds.
Is it free, and do I need to sign up?
It is free, and there is no sign-up and no email step. Make as many codes as you need and download each one as SVG or PNG.
Is what I type sent anywhere?
No. The code is drawn by code running in your browser. Your link, text, Wi-Fi password, contact details and logo are never sent to our servers or stored.
Do these QR codes expire?
No. They are static codes: the content is written into the pattern itself, not into a short link we host. There is no scan limit and nothing to renew, so a printed code keeps working for as long as the page or details it holds stay the same.
How big should I print a QR code?
About a tenth of the distance it is scanned from: 2 cm for a business card held in the hand, 3 cm on a table card, 20 cm on a poster read from 2 m. Keep each square at 0.4 mm or more; the tool warns you when a code is too fine for its size.
Can I change the colours or add a logo?
Yes. Pick any code and background colour; the tool shows the contrast and warns when a phone may struggle. Add your initials or a small logo in the centre and error correction moves to High, so the code still reads with the middle covered. Without a mark, Medium suits most print and Low makes the smallest pattern for screens.
Should I download SVG or PNG?
SVG for anything printed: it is vector, so the code stays sharp at any size and a designer can place it on packaging. PNG at 2x or 4x for websites, slides, email and label apps.
How do I make a QR code?
Pick what the code does at the top of this page, such as a link, Wi-Fi or a contact card, and fill in the fields. The code is drawn as you type. Set the colours and the printed width, and add your initials or a logo in the centre if you like. Download SVG for print or PNG for screens, then scan a test print with two phones before the full run.
