Store migration estimator

How long will your store move take?

Tell it what you sell, what you run on apps and what you want to bring. It works out the hours in each phase, the weeks on your calendar and a checklist you can copy or download.

About 33 hours of work, or about 4 weeks at 10 hours a week. Runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.

It counts products, variants, customers, orders, pages, blog posts, apps, your theme, and redirects.

How the estimate is worked out

Every hour in the plan, and where it comes from

The estimate adds up planning assumptions you can read in full. They are round working figures for a careful team, not measured averages, so you can judge each one against your own store.

Example store2.25 h

  • Create your Tanqory store. Your current store stays open.0.25 h
  • Connect your current store with a secure sign-in0.5 h
  • Export 2 CSV files from your current platform1 h
  • List the addresses of your current products, pages and posts0.5 h

Share of the example plan7%

Prepare

Half an hour per CSV file you export, or half an hour to set up a store connection, a read-only key or a Google sign-in. The API route plans a developer day to map fields and run a first batch.

Example store10 h

  • Run the dry run on 9,480 rows, fix the flagged rows, then import9.5 h
  • Download your order history (18,000 orders) and file it with your records0.5 h

Share of the example plan30%

Import and check

One hour of reading the dry run and fixing rows for every 1,000 rows: products plus variants, customers and stock levels. The smallest import still gets an hour.

Example store2 h

  • Free theme4 h
  • AI draft2 h
  • Custom React40 h

Share of the example plan6%

Theme and design

Four hours to set up a free theme, two to review an AI draft of brand, theme and pages, forty for a custom React build by a developer.

Example store9.5 h

  • Check the 12 pages the connection copied2 h
  • Copy over and check 30 blog posts7.5 h

Share of the example plan29%

Pages and posts

Twenty minutes to copy over and check a page, fifteen for a blog post. Over a store connection, pages are copied for you and checking takes ten.

Example store3 h

  • Turn on product reviews, built into the plan1 h
  • Set up marketing email, built into the plan1 h
  • Set up subscriptions, built into the plan1 h

Share of the example plan9%

Apps and features

One hour to turn on and set up each feature you run on an app today. Each custom feature or integration plans two developer days through the API.

Example store6.5 h

  • Connect your payment provider, then set shipping rates and taxes3 h
  • Import redirects for 522 old addresses1.5 h
  • Place test orders, then point your domain at Tanqory2 h

Share of the example plan19%

Payments, redirects and launch

Half an hour plus one hour per 500 old addresses for the redirect file, three hours for payments, shipping and taxes, and two for test orders and the domain switch.

How the data moves

Three routes, picked by your source and size

The estimate plans one of these routes for you. A CSV file suits most catalogs, a store connection copies products and pages for you, and the API carries the largest moves.

For smaller catalogs

Import with a CSV file

Export a file from your current platform and upload it. Tanqory recognizes the export format of popular platforms and marketplaces and maps the columns for you.

  • Products arrive with variants, options, prices by market, collections and stock at each location.
  • Customers, inventory counts, catalogs and URL redirects each have their own import.
  • Upload the same file again after a fix: matching products are updated, never doubled.
Build your plan

For a fast setup

Connect your current store

Sign in to your current platform from the Tanqory admin and let the copy run on its own. No files to export and no columns to match.

  • Products, variants and pages are read from your current store and written to the new one.
  • A run log shows what was copied and what needs your eye, entry by entry.
  • The connection uses a secure sign-in. Disconnect it in one click when the move is done.

For large businesses

Build it with the API, or with our team

Move a large or unusual catalog with the Tanqory APIs and SDK, on your own schedule and with your own rules.

  • Write products and customers through open APIs, and keep your own system IDs for the next sync.
  • Tanqory professional services plan and run the move with your team.
  • Your data stays yours: export products, customers, orders, discounts and catalogs as CSV at any time.

What changes the hours in your plan

  • Sell while you move

Build the new store next to the old one and keep taking orders. You switch the domain only when the new store is ready, so nothing goes dark.

See the three ways to move
  • Check before you import

A dry run reads your file and shows what will be created, what will be updated and which rows need a fix. Nothing is written until you say so.

    See the import
  • Keep your search traffic

Import your URL redirects from one two-column file before the switch, so old product links, bookmarks and ads land on the right page.

    How redirects work
  • Let AI do the setup

The AI assistant in your admin answers how-to questions and does setup work with your confirmation, so the move takes hours off your team.

Frequently asked questions

Planning a large move?

Tanqory professional services plan and run large or unusual moves with your team.

Talk to sales
How accurate is the estimate?

It is a planning figure, not a quote. Every hour comes from an assumption printed on this page, so you can see why the plan says what it says. Your own team may be faster or slower: the range under the main figure runs from 80% to 130% of it, and you can change the hours a week to match your calendar.

What does the estimator count?

Products and variants, customers, stock levels, order history, pages and blog posts, the features you run on apps today, any custom work, your theme route and your redirects. Each one adds tasks to the checklist only when you choose to bring it.

Why does the plan pick a route for me?

Each platform has its own way into Tanqory. WooCommerce connects with a read-only key and Google Merchant Center with a Google sign-in. Wix, Etsy, Amazon, Lightspeed Retail (R-Series), and Lightspeed Retail (X-Series) move with a CSV file, as do spreadsheets and other systems. Another hosted store builder connects with a secure sign-in. Above 100,000 products and variants together, the plan uses the Tanqory API.

What happens to my order history?

Download it from your current platform as a file before you close the old store, and keep it with your records. The plan gives it its own task. Once you sell on Tanqory, you can export orders as CSV whenever you like.

Will my store go offline during the move?

No. You build the new store next to the old one, and your current store stays open until you point your domain at Tanqory. That is why the plan counts working hours rather than downtime.

How do I keep my search traffic?

Import your URL redirects before you switch the domain. Each old product, page and post address points to its new page, so search results, bookmarks and ads keep landing in the right place.

Do I need a developer?

Only for a custom React theme, custom features or integrations, or a move through the API. Everything else runs in the admin, and the AI assistant does setup work with your confirmation.

Is anything I type stored?

No. The estimator runs in your browser. Your numbers stay on this device, and the plan you copy or download is made here.
